South Africa has 11 official languages, but the majority of computer software is in English. This creates a language barrier for some citizens who don’t speak English and further expands the digital divide

Zuza Software Foundation, a non-profit organisation, responded to this hindrance by launching an open-source translation software (www.translate.org.za). Although this does not necessarily bridge the digital divide, it evades the language barrier.
