The South African Association for Language Teaching (SAALT), is non-profit organisation that was founded in 1966 as the South African Language Study Group. Since then its membership has increased to such an extent that the Association has become representative of a large number of people involved in language and language teaching.
They serve language teachers at all levels with information on the latest research, trends, and best practice related to the profession. The Journal for Language Teaching is their flagship product. Their annual conference is the most productive interaction among language teaching professionals nationally. Their networks connect local language teaching professionals with global expertise.
The Association is committed to multilingualism and emphasizes this both in theory and in practice.
